CHRISTMAS will arrive in a box for more than 90 children in Kenya and Zimbabwe, after pupils at All Saints School in Tilford responded to an appeal from Jeremy Hunt.
The South West Surrey MP has been supporting Northampton MP Sally Keeble's Schools for Africa project, which provides gift boxes for orphaned and vulnerable children.
The charity provided a huge pile of boxes and the children crammed them full of little gifts including toys, pens, notebooks and toiletries. Each box was marked with whether it was for a boy or a girl and the age range for which it was suitable.
A spokesman said the children had thoroughly enjoyed filling their individual boxes.
"We explained how fortunate they were and said it would be lovely to do something for someone who wasn't so lucky - that it might be the only present they received, ever."
Sally Keeble arrived at the school in person to collect the cargo on Monday, filling her car to capacity with boxes to be despatched in time for delivery by Christmas Day.
