HASLEMERE residents are urged to help make St Bartholomew’s Primary School’s dream come true to have a Christmas Number One.
Record label CRC has released on CD, vinyl and digitally, St Bart’s imaginative re-recording of ‘Pop or Not’, the hit album made by psychedelic band Whyte Horses in May. St Bart’s is already celebrating the single from the album,‘She Owns the World’, released by CRC, going straight to number one both in the iTunes children’s charts and in the iTunes UK video charts.
Hopes are high, the album ‘St Bart’s Choir Perform Pop or Not – the music of Whyte Horses’ will also go straight to the top.
Headteacher Charles Beckerson told The Herald: “I am gobsmacked by the whole thing. It’s been just as much of a rollercoaster ride for me as for the children. Music has always been a big part of my life and it has been an amazing experience to be part of this extraordinary musical journey with the children. We are all enjoying the element of the unknown.
“There are now also plans to release a second single ‘Snow Falls’ in time for Christmas and we are very much hoping that might be a number one as well as the album.”
