WAVERLEY Abbey Junior School has been congratulated after raising more than £4,000 for the NSPCC.
Representatives of the charity came into school before the end of term to attend a ‘Speak out, Stay safe’ assembly and introduce the children to their school’s mascot Buddy.
Pupils were invited to take part in a special workout to raise money to help vulnerable children and this took place in school with the children completing obstacle courses.
The children their family to sponsor them or to make a donation, and managed to raise an incredible £4,038.
The NSPCC’s Speak out Stay safe programme teaches pupils to speak out if they are worried, either to a trusted adult or to its free Childline service (www.childline.org.uk).
