A TEAM of young engineers at Grayshott Primary School has triumphed in the first Lego League competition.

A group of nine and 10 year olds stormed to victory in the robot section of the competition, which was held at the Intech Science Centre, Winchester.

As one of only two primary schools to take part in the contest, they beat 17 other teams of much older students from secondary schools and colleges to take home the coveted bright yellow Lego Trophy.

"The children were absolutely thrilled," said James Farrar, a parent and coach of the team.
