A FARNHAM runner is taking on an ultimate challenge as he takes part in the North Downs Way 50 Ultra Marathon (NDW50).

Oliver Lovell is taking part in the run on May 19 to raise money for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.

He said: “The work that Phyllis Tuckwell does is really amazing and so important to a lot of families.

“It is also a charity that I know has supported a lot of friends and family in tough times.

“So please donate, any amount small or large will help them to continue to do what they do and make a difference.”

The NDW50 is a 50 mile race from Farnham to Knockholt Pound on the outskirts of Greater London, following the North Downs Way National Trail.

This event has a total climb of 5,600 feet.

There is a total of 300 places for the 2018 NDW50, including places for 2017 volunteers and those who entered on open registration.

It is the eighth year that the course has been used and is also the first 50 miles of the North Downs Way 100 (NDW100).

When the Herald went to print, £1,165 had been raised of Oliver’s £2,000 target.
