HOUSING association Radian has said that more than 90 per cent of Quebec Park homes on the market have already been snapped up.

Quebec Park opened late last year and has since made its mark on the town’s housing market.

Radian, the Eastleigh-based housing group which is developing the 100-home site, has sold 19 of the first 21 homes released.

Radian said these quick sales were “the first milestone at the heart of the regeneration project for Whitehill and Bordon”.

The development is located on the site of the former Quebec Barracks and will consist of 100 two, three, and four-bedroom homes, including coach-houses, terraces, townhouses and detached properties. Prices for a three-bedroom home currently start at £340,000.

The homes have proved particularly popular with young professionals looking to combine a location that has, according to Radian, “excellent transport links to Guildford, Farnham and London” along with the “beautiful surroundings of the South Downs to support a quieter and more tranquil home life”.

The first phase of two, three and four-bedroom homes has seen a variety of house types “fly off the shelves” from townhouses to the most popular home, The Townsend, a three-bedroom semi-detached home with a garage and private parking.

With Help to Buy available on selected plots, many buyers have already taken advantage of Government incentives to get them onto the property ladder.

Help to Buy is available for first-time buyers, with some aspects open to current homeowners as well.

The scheme allows buyers to purchase a new home with just a five-per-cent deposit. The Government provides an interest-free equity loan of up to 20 per cent of the value of the new property.

Zoe Bonnington, assistant director of new business, sales and marketing at Radian, said: “We expected the homes to appeal to many different types of buyers, which has certainly been the case, although the homes are a particular hit with young buyers looking for their first home.

“Having launched a few months ago, there are only two homes in the first phase remaining. Considering the brief time these homes have been on the market, Quebec Park is proving extremely popular with Hampshire house hunters.”

For those who didn’t manage to secure a home in the first phase, phase two at Quebec Park has just been released. Phase three is expected to launch in early May and will consist of both private and shared-ownership homes along with a new cafe.

Ms Bonnington added: “With the significant regeneration in the area, purchasing a property now is a wise choice as the improvements in Bordon are expected to ignite a potential house-price rise.

“This, combined with the excellent transport links and distance to cities such as Guildford and London, means Bordon will become a real destination for homeowners.”

The homes at Quebec Park include the latest energy-saving features built into the fabric of the homes, including solar panels.
