The charity play a vital part within the community, lending support to older people in Farnham, who may become isolated from friends and neighbours.
The Lord Lieutenant, Michael More-Molyneux arrived with his wife Sarah and the Vice Lord-Lieutenant, Bill Biddell, to present the award to June Trantom, manager of Farnham ASSIST, who paid tribute to those that established Farnham ASSIST over 15 years ago and helped to develop it and touch the lives of hundreds of older residents living in Farnham and the surrounding villages.
The current Mayor of Waverley, Simon Inchbald and Mayor of Farnham, Mike Hodge also attended the service with many local church ministers.
Celebratory drinks and cake were served afterwards with the opportunity for many to catch up and hear what a difference ASSIST has been making, and meet the current staff and trustees.
