ONLY a few hours after a young Alton mother complained about an overflowing dog mess bin on a footpath leading to Wootey's Junior and Infants School, workmen have emptied it.

The angry mum rang the district council on the morning of January 11 to complain not only about the bin not being emptied but about the amount of dog mess on the footpath which she uses from the Eagle Close end to take her sons, aged four and nine, to the school.

She said: "I use the path twice daily and I have to constantly clean mess from my sons' shoes before they can go into the school or the family home."
