CASTLE Quilters based in Weybourne put their skills to the test as they knitted their first charity quilt, which was presented to The Farnham Hedgehogs’ chairman, Bob Hockey.
The Hedgehogs will auction the quilt at an event in July to raise money for one of their charities.
The quilt which was made up of 20, 12-and-a-half inch blocks resembled an old and popular quilting pattern, Dresden Plates.
One of the founding members, Janet Ashwell, said: “The Hedgehogs were absolutely delighted with the quilt. It was really pretty, I think we all wanted to keep a bit of it but we were delighted with the final piece.
“It is our 10th anniversary in September, so to celebrate we are doing things like this throughout the year and in September we will host a garden party.
“We choose the Hedgehogs as one of our members has a connection to the group. As well as this we support a different charity year on year.
“Last year we supported Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and this year we chose Treloars, a school and college in Alton. We will aim to help the Hedgehogs again over the year.”
Castle Quilters meet at Weybourne Village Hall in Weybourne Road, Farnham, on the forth Monday of each month.
