THE parish’s neighbourhood development plan liaison working party has now recommended the appointment of five members for the steering group, after receiving their applications and disclosure of interest forms.

A meeting on June 15 was attended by development plan chairman Emma Winfield and Bramshott and Liphook parish councillor Jeanette Kirby, who was officially elected as the council representative for the steering group at the parish council meeting, on June 26.

Alasdair Cameron, who brings planning experience to the table and Darren Ellis, who has worked in transport and grew up in the parish, have both been members of the former disbanded steering group, as was Chantal Foo.

Among the new appointments are Dominic Taplin and Roger Miller, who is a member of LiDBA and chairman of the SOS Bohunt Group. Claire Payne was recommended for membership of the neighbourhood development plan liaison working party.

Mrs Winfield felt all five candidates recommended for the steering group had considerable experience in many different areas.

The working party is looking to appoint a total of 10 members for the neighbourhood development plan steering committee and more applications are currently being reviewed.

A recent neighbourhood development plan event held at Liphook Millennium Centre was declared a resounding success when more than 60 key interested parties within the community took part in a ‘speed-planning’ exercise, with more public events planned in the near future.

The benefit for the community of completing and adopting a Neighbourhood Development Plan is the parish will receive 25 per cent of the community infrastructure levy from every new property granted permission and built within the parish boundaries.

The neighbourhood development plan will crucially also play a major role in future planning decisions made by EHDC and the South Downs National Park.
