A QUIZ night has raised £340 for The Woodlarks Centre for people with disabilities in Lodge Hill Road, Farnham.

Forty supporters of the charity, including a number of board members and residents, packed into the centre’s dining room and enjoyed a fun, interesting and varied quiz, provided by quiz master Norman House.

A home-cooked meal was served and a raffle held.

The money raised will contribute towards the centre’s next project to convert part of its activity centre into a fully accessible kitchen which will give residents the opportunity to bake cakes and full meals.

Some of Woodlarks’ residents have never cooked before, so it will be a great opportunity for them as well as teaching them valuable life skills.

Community fundraiser Gill Butler said: “This was the first time we’ve held a fundraising quiz at The Woodlarks Centre.

“It was well attended and enjoyed by everyone and I was thrilled at the amount of money we raised.

“In addition, one of our guests, Jonathan Bird kindly offered to build our kitchen for us free of charge, which we are bowled over by.”
