THE A31 is now open at Ropley thanks to a team of Hampshire County Council engineers who worked against the clock to construct a temporary causeway over the flood at the Bishop's Sutton roundabout.

Closed for almost two weeks to ensure the safety of the public, the aim was to re-open the road before Christmas.
