TWO great anti-establishment radical journalists will come face to face at the Maltings in October for the William Cobbett Society annual memorial lecture.

Owen Jones (pictured), the well-known writer, political pundit and author of best seller The Establishment: And How They Get Away With It, will respond to issues raised by William Cobbett, the greatest radical journalist of his day played on the night by actor Bernard Whelan.

These will include the role of bankers and the media as well as issues of poverty and political corruption.

The ‘Owen Jones meets William Cobbett: So What’s Changed in 200 years?’ event in the Tindle Room at 8pm on October 7 has sold out. But additional seats in the Barley Room, with live video streaming, have been made available at £5.
