A HUGE turnout is expected tomorrow (Saturday) for RAF Odiham's Heroes Parade in Odiham town centre. Starting at 11am in the High Street, two squadrons, RAF vehicles used in overseas tours, school children from Buryfields and Mayhill, air cadets and dignatories, will parade with an RAF band and cheered by flag-waving youths. Station commander Group Captain Andy Turner will take the salute opposite The George Hotel, there will be a Chinook flypast, a presentation by parish council chairman Simon Quarrell and until 6pm there will be stalls, entertainments, wine and a range of beers, music, Pocket the Clown and parachuting teddy bears off the church tower. Peter Fountain, town manager, hopes the day will be a great family day out and a chance for the people of Odiham to show their appreciation of the RAF. "Odiham is a unique and a very together community with the RAF very much part of it. Come to our party where we're showing our respects to the RAF," he added. The High Street and The Bury will be closed to traffic all day. Arrive early and follow the car parking signs.
