POLICE are appealing for information about a break-in at Kingsley’s Country Market.

Damage was caused to safes and tills, but a Hampshire police spokesman said nothing was thought to have been stolen in the January 25 raid.

The burglars targeted Peacocks inside the Country Market retail complex.

Police community support officer James Merrell, based at Alton police station, said: “Please remember to ensure all valuables and cash are safely stored or removed from the property where possible. If you have any information that could assist police with their investigation regarding this break-in, or see anything suspicious in your area, please call us on 101 or 999 in an emergency.”
