CALLS are being made for improvements at the railway crossing at Kingsfernden Lane in Petersfield after the town's former mayor Elsa Bulmer mistakenly turned her car on to the tracks.

Fellow Petersfield town councillor and deputy mayor Ken Hick says there has been a problem with the crossing for years and is urging people to realise the danger highlighted by the incident.
