NETWORK Rail and South West Trains (SWT) is advising passengers to check sevices before they travel as major track upgrades at Waterloo, will significantly reduce the number of trains over a second weekend this month.
Network Rail’s £600,000 investment to replace key sections of track at Waterloo, takes place again over the weekends of March 18 and 19, following similar work last weekend. Part of the £800million upgrade, the work is designed to boost capacity by 30 per cent and improve reliability in and out of the central London terminus.
Becky Lumlock, route managing director at Network Rail, said: “There will be some significant changes to services over the weekend – so I’d like to ask all
passengers to check their journeys in advance.”
