DESPITE the rain The Woodlarks Centre on Lodge Hill Road had a “marvellous” time at the annual summer fair, formally opened by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey, Bill Biddell.
Visitors were greeted by an Elvis impersonator and the Full Circle Vocal Choir kept everyone entertained.
Julie West, activity co-ordinator, said: “It went really well. We all had a wonderful time, raising over £1,100.
“We had a fire engine, a vintage vehicle competition, barbecue, tombola, craft stalls, face painting, a Pims and prosecco tent and so on. Loseley Park Ice Cream also came down.
“It was such a good atmosphere. The staff worked so hard to lift the tables in and out and helping to move the residents around the grass – everyone joined in and had a good day.
“Vice Lord-Lieutenant Bill Biddell, was so lovely and so genuine, he sent us a beautiful email afterwards.”
