CHILDREN at St John’s Infant School in Churt celebrated the 150th anniversary of St John’s Church by creating a collage of felt balloons using colours of the rainbow.

The school wanted to create a special gift to present to the church and, as a rainbow is already a key part of St John’s logo, the idea of a rainbow connecting the school to the church emerged.

Gillian Morris, headteacher, said: “I am absolutely delighted to be able to present this collage to the church, and would like to thank everyone involved - the staff, the children and the wonderful volunteers from Churt WI, without whom this amazing piece of work would not have been possible.”

The ‘Rainbow of Hope’ will hang in the north transept of the church.
