CALLING all petrolheads!
Vehicle enthusiasts are being urged to “drive on over” to the Kingsley Sports Club on Sickles Lane tomorrow for the annual White Dove Collectors Transport Show.
Held in support of the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, this annual gathering of more than 300 veteran, vintage and classic cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles will kick off at 11am.
Last year the event raised £15,000, which paid for a car used by the charity’s hospice-care-at-home nurses to visit patients who have chosen to spend their last weeks and days in the comfort and familiarity of their homes.
Phyllis Tuckwell provides supportive and end-of-life care for patients and families across west Surrey and north-east Hampshire, who are living with a terminal illness like cancer. It offers medical care, nursing, therapies, counselling, social work advice and practical support. But the Government only covers 20 per cent of its costs, so it has to raise more than £20,000 a day.
