THE Herald has amassed a mountain of toys to bring a smile to less fortunate children’s faces this festive season, thanks to the overwhelming generosity of readers.
With just days to go in the Herald’s 2017 Christmas Toy Appeal, hundreds of toys if all shapes and sizes have been donated - to be distributed to local families by four chosen charities.
They are Home-Start in Waverley, Dreams Come True, Treloars and Challengers.
Readers were invited to donate a new, unwrapped toy or book for ages nought to three, four to seven, eight to 12 and 13 to 16 years old.
Hundreds of individuals, groups and schools responded, including kind-hearted pupils at St Bartholomew’s Primary School in Haslemere who donated a Santa’s sack-full of gifts.
The Herald’s 2017 Christmas Toy Appeal appeal will close on Monday, December 18, and the toys delivered to the chosen charities soon after.
Anyone wishing to donate a gift before this date can do so at the Farnham Herald office in West Street, the Alton Herald at 13 Market Sq, the Bordon Herald at Tindle House or the Petersfield Post at 33 High St.
