Sir, - As one involved in the fundraising during the early seventies for the Redgrave Theatre, I am wondering how long we have to wait (we the population of Farnham and its environs) for the Waverley Borough Council to make up its mind to the fate of the Redgrave.

Farnham desperately needs a focus, the New Farnham Repertory Company have more than proved their worth with a very thorough and professional approach to their short season at the bottom of the library gardens.

There is nothing currently available in the surrounding district, nor likely to be, that could give Farnham such a boost as a truly professional repertory company.

There are multiple benefits, culturally, educationally and financially to be pondered if Farnham wants to be considered special and different. After all, the Redgrave is ours, isn't it?
