FARNHAM Maltings’ successful festival of retirement will return for its second outing next week – including dance workshops with Matthew Bourne’s Dance Company, New Adventures.

The ‘refreshers’ fair will return on Monday, February 27, featuring a range of clubs, societies and organisations for those who are retired or approaching retirement, all within the local area.

A spokesman for the Maltings said: “Retirement doesn’t have to mean a time to start slowing down, it can mean a chance to take up a range of different hobbies, learn something new and give a little time back to the community.”

At the fair visitors can expect to see lots of different special interest groups from the Farnham Geological Society to the Farnham and District Ramblers as well as charities on a local and national scale like Farnham Lions and Age UK.

Also new to the festival this year, Farnham Maltings new resident company, Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures & Re:Bourne will be running two short introduction dance workshops in the cellar bar.

The renowned dance company has recently moved its community focused organisations to the Maltings and is looking to set up a regular dance group for older people in the Surrey and Hampshire region. This will give a brief taster of what they will be looking to run.

In addition, the Farnham Area Timebank will introduce this nationwide scheme where individuals and organisations can link up to share their time and skills.
