A CHANCE meeting during a Railtrack Channel Tunnel Link celebration between Railtrack manager Phil Marsh and Doorstep charity trustee Alistair Voden led to an unusual day out for a group of refugees, currently living in London.

Wearing his hat as chairman of Mid Hants Railway, Phil Marsh invited Mr Voden to send a 30-strong party of refugees, currently living in the care of Camden based charity Doorstep, to visit Alresford railway station on Friday last week to meet Thomas the Tank Engine and friends.
