A FAMILY picnic complete with hamper under the trees on the lawns of Gilbert White’s house was all part of the fun at the weekend when the historic Selborne House and Museum hosted its annual period fun and games event.
Hundreds of people stepped back in time to enjoy 18th century games on the lawn, demonstrations of old country crafts such as spinning, and browse a variety of craft stalls.
The event was held in warm sunshine on both days which allowed the lawns and gardens to be used to their full extent, while indoors there was Regency dancing.
