RELIEF and jubilation greeted Rushmoor Borough Council's surprise decision last Wednesday to reject plans to massively increase flights at Farnborough Airport and put more pressure on the skies above Farnham.

But TAG Farnborough Airport, which wanted to boost the total number of business aviation movements from 28,000 to 50,000 a year and weekend and bank holiday movements from 5,000 to 8,900, is widely expected to appeal against the refusal decision, which was reached against planning officers' advice.
