A BAND of Wombles from Farnham Weyside Rotary Club met near The Hop Blossom pub last week to take part in the ‘Clean for the Queen’ campaign.

They collected several bags of rubbish but were pleasantly surprised to find some areas cleaner than expected.

Members of the public praised their efforts and The Hop Blossom landlord treated them to drinks on the house.

After that they dispersed until they are needed again later this year at Farnham Town Council’s autumn Big Pick Week from October 15 to 23.
