SURREY Police say they attended Lower Street in Haslemere in the early hours of last Saturday morning, following a report from a member of the public that a man was acting suspiciously and carrying a suspected knife.

A Surrey Police spokesman told The Herald: “A number of police units attended the location at 1.30am and carried out a thorough and extensive search of the surrounding area.

“But there were no further sightings of the man and no related incidents reported.”
