Following a review last summer, Surrey County Council’s highways department launched a consultation in mid-January inviting the public to have their say on its proposed changes.
These are published online at www.surreycc.gov.uk and include new and extended ‘no waiting at any time’ restrictions, as well as the revocation of some existing restrictions and new disabled bays, in all three of Farnham’s county council divisions.
In Farnham North, extended restrictions are proposed in Alma Lane, Upper Weybourne Lane, Weybourne Road and Lower Weybourne Lane.
The majority are proposed in Farnham Central however, with changes mooted in Castle St, West St, Falkner Rd, Weydon Hill Rd, Ridgway Rd and an array of smaller residential streets.
In Farnham South changes are proposed in Frensham Rd, Fox Rd, Lodge Hill Rd, while significant new parking restrictions are also on the cards at The Crossways, Churt.
Following the consultation, Surrey’s parking team manager, in consultation with the chairman/vice chairman of the Waverley Local Committee and the county councillor of the area concerned, will then consider the feedback both positive and negative and make final decisions about which proposals will be implemented.
