OWNERS at Churchill Retirement Living’s Hawthorn Lodge in Farnham have raised more than £700 for Macmillan Cancer Support after hosting a successful charity coffee morning.
The event, which was part of the charity’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning campaign, took place at the development in Longbridge.
Visitors were treated to coffee, cakes and biscuits in the owners’ lounge, and helped to raise a total of £737.79 for the charity. There was also a special raffle, which was hosted by town mayor John Ward, with prizes donated by owners and the community.
Anne Scherrer, regional marketing manager at Churchill Retirement Living, said: “We were delighted to be involved in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning once again as it is such a fantastic way to raise money for a very worthy cause.
“Our lodges offer a great sense of community and companionship, and this event was an ideal opportunity for visitors to experience the lifestyle on offer here.
“We encourage owners to get involved in as much or as little as they like, with many regularly taking advantage of the communal facilities on offer, including the Owner’s lounge where we hold regular coffee mornings and fun social events like this.”
This is the seventh year the retirement developer has taken part in World’s Biggest Coffee morning, which last year raised £28,000.
