A PRIME development of retirement homes in Petersfield has been partly flooded after a weekend of heavy rain.

Beechcroft has postponed an open day at Merritts Meadows after part of their site was inundated.

A large pool, several inches deep, surrounded machinery and building supplies after a deluge on Sunday.

But the developer insists the meadow is safe to build on – and has blamed the flooding on fly-tippers blocking a culvert.
