AN Alton-based golf club manufacturer has offered a £500 reward for information, after its premises were broken into on Saturday May 18, for the second time in five months.

Srixon, makers of golf clubs and accessories located at the Grove Park Industrial Estate, was first burgled on Thursday, March 14, at around 8-30 pm.

The thieves forced entry to the warehouse through rear doors, and stole 150 ÔXX10Õ golf drivers, 50 fairway woods and 100 dozen ÔHi-SpinÕ golf balls.

The premises was burgled again on May 18 at around 6 pm, and a further 200 ÔSV300Õ 11-degree regular reflex drivers, 72 dozen ÔHi-SpinÕ balls and 60 dozen ÔHi-Brid TourÕ balls, were stolen.

The reward is being offered for information that will lead to the recovery of the golf equipment, which is estimated to have a combined value of £80,000, and the subsequent identification and conviction of an offender.

The unique golf clubs are supplied to a small number of outlets in the UK and are described as black with the words ÔSrixon SV300Õ printed in gold on the shaft.

Each club is protected by a furry, sock-shaped, dark navy club cover, which has the number one embroidered on it.

Anyone who may have information on the stolen clubs is urged to contact Detective Constable Jacqui Doran at Alton CID on 0845 045 45 45, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
