GREEN-FINGERED Farnham almost swept the board at the South and South East in Bloom Awards.
Farnham in Bloom won gold in both the town centre and the large town category and, for the second time, also won the best in county award, beating all other entries in Surrey.
Kevin Taitt, Farnham Town Council’s manager of outside services, was also recognised with an outstanding contribution award.
Further awards for Farnham were: Gold for The Bishop’s Meadow Trust in the large conservation area category; silver gilt for Badshot Lea cemetery in the small cemetery category; silver gilt for Gostrey Meadow in the small park category; silver gilt and level 4 ‘thriving’ for Victoria Garden in the small park and it’s your neighborhood categories; level 3 ‘advancing’ for Farnham Heath End Gardeners.
Thanks go to volunteers and sponsors for all their support for Farnham in Bloom 2017. The team at Farnham Town Council and The Farnham in Bloom Community Group are keeping their fingers crossed for further recognition in the Britain in Bloom competition, which will be announced on October 27.
