A TRUSTEE of local charity Transform Housing & Support successfully completed the Prudential Ride London 100-mile cycle classic, to support the charity’s work with homeless and vulnerable people.
Chris Deacon, who joined the Transform board in 2013, is a member of the fundraising committee and a keen supporter of the charity which runs a number of shelters and sheltered accommodation schemes in the Farnham area.
He was accompanied on the ride by fellow staff member and newcomer to the organisation, Mark Webster. Mark signed up to fundraise for Transform before he’d even completed his first day at work with the charity.
Between them they have raised more than £3,700 in vital funds for the charity, which will go towards ensuring their continued life-changing work.
Chris said of his triumph: “Despite my stiff legs and sore behind, I really enjoyed being part of this fantastic event and I’m even more pleased to have raised money for the great work of Transform.”
Transform provides housing and support for more than 1,000 homeless and vulnerable people each year. The charity offers people accommodation as well as one-to-one specialist support to gain life skills and build up their confidence.
