PEOPLE power has paid off for Alton as OFWAT agreed funding for a £2m scheme which will restore normal flow to the River Wey.
The news has delighted members of Alton's River Campaign who have fought tooth and nail to stop over-abstraction and save the town's ailing river from extinction.
