BUSINESSES in Grayswood and Brook are up in arms over "misleading" road closure and diversion signs erected this week that make it appear the whole road is closed when they still have full access.
Surrey County Council started work in earnest on Monday to resurface more than four miles of the A286 from Gasden Lane, in Witley, to Highercombe Road, in Haslemere, but the signs do not make it clear the road is being closed in sections specifically to minimise the impact on businesses.
The project will be carried out in three phases, starting with the section from Gasden Lane to Roke Lane, continuing from Roke Lane to The Mount, Grayswood, and finishing from The Mount to Highercombe Road.
