AN application to widen the existing access road at Old Thorns Golf and Country Club – by one additional metre – caused outrage and was strongly opposed by councillors at Monday's parish council planning meeting.
Critics claim any road widening will increase traffic speeds along the road through a popular beauty spot and put pedestrians and other road users, including cyclists and horse riders, at "serious risk".
