HOLLYCOMBE School's autumn class topic was "Invade and Conquer" and the children have been looking at the "rotten Romans" during half-term.

They looked at the geography of the Roman invasion and explored what happened when the Romans arrived in England, as well as the story of Boudicca.

The eager youngsters found out about army life, how the Romans lived, and put themselves into their role to create some exciting writing.

They particularly enjoyed dressing up to show off their exciting homework project to the rest of the school.

They created mosaics, demonstrated army battle formations using handmade shields and swords, and tucked into a Roman feast.

The children also plan to take a walking tour of Roman Chichester.
