MEMBERS of Alton Round Table were joined by local scouts as they prepared to set off from Princess Drive on Tuesday to take their festive Christmas Float around Highridge and Whitedown Lane.

The Tablers are half way through their annual Christmas collection, raising money for local charity while bringing festive cheer to the residents of Alton and Holybourne.

Today (Thursday) they will be on the Greenfields estate, from 6.30pm, while tomorrow Santa will be waving to children from his sleigh as he travels from Linnets Way, around the Pound Gate and Nursery Road area before making his way to Chalcrafts, ending up at Adams Way and Shipley Close.

Over the weekend the float will start at the earlier time of 5pm, covering the Wooteys estate and Gilbert White Way on Saturday.

It will finish on Sunday with a tour of Anstey Lane and the Manor estate before going to Geales Crescent.
