FARNHAM food bank received a late Christmas present last week when almost £4,000 raised by the Farnham Round Table’s Santa’s Sleigh Ride was presented to the charity.

The cheque was handed over by Round Table chairman Mark Potter and fellow tabler Andrew Patience to Harriet Lanyon and Mel Cracknell from the food bank.

The money was raised when Farnham Round Table arranged for Father Christmas to tour the town in December.

And the festive folk of Farnham were once again exceedingly generous towards this worthy cause.

Farnham Round Table is a club for men aged 18 to 45 that meets fortnightly to socialise and raise money for the local community through events like the annual Farnham charity bike ride, the Farnham town fireworks, charity Christmas trees and the annual Santa Sleigh.

The club  is always looking to welcome new members and details can be found at https://farnhamroundtable.org.uk

The Farnham food bank provides emergency food to people in crisis across our local area.

In addition, through local partnerships it will help people access advice on debt reduction and money management which are often challenges which drive people to food banks in the first place.
