FOUR pupils from Farnham's Abbey School joined the Countess of Wessex at Wentworth Golf Club last week to celebrate 20 years of fundraising for young people by The Children with Special Needs Foundation. The foundation was set up by Gordon and Ann Parris in 1995 during their term as mayor and mayoress of Surrey Heath. Supported by their friends, fellow committee members and loyal patrons from the worlds of business, sport and entertainment, they have raised more than £4m. The money goes to support individuals, groups and schools in their requests for equipment, holidays and tuition and to provide essential care for children with special needs in Surrey, East Berkshire and North Hampshire. The Abbey School in Farnham has been one of the many beneficiaries of grants and opportunities made possible by the foundation's busy schedule of fundraising events and the generosity of their many sponsors.
