THE Duke of York flew into Fernhurst this week to visit one of the UK's top makers of leather goods.
The private visit to Aspinal of London's headquarters saw Prince Andrew arrive by helicopter before being driven to meet staff from the company which designs goods from luxury handbags and men's accessories to wedding albums.
The low-key visit was arranged through Aspinal's marketing director, Andrew Gordon, and he was greeted on arrival by company chairman Iain Burton, who once set up a record label with X-Factor supremo Simon Cowell, and former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips.
Aspinal of London has supplied and designed gifts for a number of years, given by Buckingham Palace to foreign heads of state, as well as their staff.
