NEW Waverley Borough Council bin contractor Biffa will take over collections from Monday, November 4.
Waverley says the contract with Biffa, which is potentially worth up to £47 million and also includes street cleaning, will continue to offer residents the same high level of service they currently receive from Veolia.
Food and waste will be collected separately in order to reduce journeys to tipping points, so caddies may be emptied at a different time to rubbish or recycling.
Collections will also be made slightly earlier in the morning so residents are asked to leave their bins out from 6am.
Residents will also benefit from the introduction of a new kerbside textile and small electrical appliance collection in addition to the existing refuse, recycling, food, clinical and green waste collections.
Initially, collections will take place at the same frequency, however Biffa will be reviewing rounds and may make collection day changes next year.
