SHOTTERMILL Infant School’s annual Christmas fair raised an impressive £2,800 to support its work.
Pupils enjoyed a spread of ‘pocket money’ stalls and were thrilled by a special appearance from Santa.
A raffle and a silent auction with tempting donated prizes helped to swell the grand total.
The Christmas Fair was opened by Haslemere mayor John Robini and mayoress Jacquie Keen.
The mayor and mayoress were interested to hear more about the school’s involvement in the Surrey Greener Future initiative and action to reduce waste being taken by the school, such as recycling left-over food at lunchtimes, rather than sending it to landfill, its re-usable partyware set that parents can borrow rather than buying disposable plastic, and the work done by the school council’s team.
