SAVILLS Farnham is hosting a Ruff ‘n’ Ready tea party in aid of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home on Friday, September 8, between 11am and 1pm at their office in Downing Street, Farnham.

Homemade cakes and biscuits will be available to buy, as well as loaf cakes donated by Gail’s Bakery.

There will also be a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses including Barkers, Giggling Squid, Paisley Cat, Ruby Mane Hair Salon, Waterstones, Cook, The Plough Inn and TeamSport Go Karting.

Battersea Dogs and Cats home hope to bring along a dog which needs re homing along to the event.

“The centre costs £40,000 per annum to run, it has 480 employees and 1,200 volunteers and, with no Government funding, relies solely on the generosity of donations from the public to support over 8,000 lost, neglected or abandoned dogs and cats each year,” said Natalie Wood, Battersea’s community fundraising manager.

“We very much hope local residents will support this initiative and look forward to welcoming as many people and dogs as possible on the day. Battersea relies on donations from the public so we can continue our vital work.

“Hosting a tea party is a great way to bring people together for this wonderful cause and all the money raised will help us to care for thousands of homeless animals, giving them the love and attention they need to start a new life.”

Raffle tickets are available to buy from Savills Farnham in the run up to event as well as on the day.

Lauren Depass of Savills, who helps organise the event, said: “The response from the public and other local businesses has been really positive and we very much hope this event will be a great success, helping to raise much-needed funds for this worthwhile cause.”
