THE Farnham Minis rugby team will soon embark on their “biggest ever” tour which sees them head to Ladram Bay in Devon.

The minis are part of Farnham Rugby Club, the town’s largest community sports club, which is run by a huge number of volunteers including more than 100 qualified referees, coaches and first-aiders.

The tour, which has been named ‘Samurai’ in honour of this year’s Rugby World Cup destination of Japan, comprises the club’s under-sevens to under-11s and will involve teams from ten clubs from Dorset, Somerset, Devon and Surrey.

Over the weekend of April 5-7, around 600 tourists from Farnham will descend on Devon – including more than 180 rugby-playing children.

Chard Rugby Club will host Saturday’s fixtures while Topsham Rugby Club will play host on Sunday.
