RUNNERS tackled the Farnborough Winter Half Marathon in memory of two teenage members of the Aldershot, Farnham and District Athletics Association killed when they were hit by a speeding car in 2016.
Around 2,000 people took part in the event at Farnborough Airport on Sunday, January 21, including a group of 76 family, friends and former AFD club mates running in memory of Lucy Pygott and Stacy Burrows.
They raised more than £10,000 for a new charitable trust set up in the girls’ memory to provide financial support to other talented junior athletes. Stacy and Lucy were aged just 16 and 17 respectively at the times of their deaths.
