SAILABILITY at Frensham Pond Sailing Club welcomed a visit by 15 German members of the International Lions Organisation on Sunday, October 4.
They were guests of Farnham Lions and came from their twin club in Frankenberg.
Over the years, Farnham Lions have been very generous donors to Frensham Pond Sailability, funding a safety boat as well as a Hansa sailing dinghy.
It was an opportunity for them to introduce their German friends to Sailability, which was new to them.
Kate Richardson, immediate past chairman of Frensham Pond Sailability, welcomed the party and gave a presentation about the activities of the organisation.
They then went on to see the latest safety boat, Lionheart 2, a Paralympic class 2.4 sailing boat, several Hansa dinghies, as well as a demonstration of how wheelchair users can be safely hoisted into a sailing dinghy.
At the end of the visit Jim Lawson of Farnham Lions expressed their appreciation of what Sailability does for disabled people and those with long term illnesses.
