SAINSBURY'S is poised to submit a planning application to Waverley Council for a virtual doubling of the retail floor space at its Water Lane store, through the addition of an extension and a new mezzanine level.

The plans, which if progressed could create around 200 new full and part-time jobs, also include construction of a single-storey open air deck over part of the existing car parking area and relocation of the petrol station to improve the car park layout.
