THIS year’s trophy for ’best shop window’ in the village has been awarded to Route 6 Hairdressing Salon in Haslemere Road by the Liphook In Bloom team.

Hollie Vowells and her mum Tina have plenty to celebrate after taking over the business nearly two years ago.

After a major refurbishment, the premises have been given a facelift and customers love the personal touch they receive from the young team.

Hollie also entered a photographic competition for a higher level hairdressing degree, winning third prize.

“I had to put together a vintage glamour session and chose to do a 60s look for hair, make-up, clothes and accessories,” she said.

“My model wore a vintage mini-dress with original 60s accessories ­ and make-up and her hair was styled in a complex beehive.”

The salon also participated in a Macmillan coffee morning, raising more than £300, and is busier than ever, already taking bookings for Christmas.
